Sadly, no. But I just met a photographer yesterday who got to chat with Tim for 3 minutes while he took Tim’s photo. 😀

Hi again 587nch28! I’ve met Tim several times 🙂 mostly when I was working the astronaut centre in Cologne. The astronauts train how to live and work in space there and they have office space there too. I went to one of Tim’s birthday parties at the astronaut centre, enjoyed his cake and sang happy birthday to him! I also went for my – all important – cup of tea with him during a break too! I got ask lots of questions such as “do you believe in aliens” and his reply was that he does believe in life on other planets, and thinks we might be close to discovering microbial single-cell life forms either currently in existence or evidence of their past existence on Mars, for example. We are always searching for organic compounds and the potential for life on other planets so, yes, he believed in life on other planets – but not in the form of little green men living in our solar system.

Tim is a really nice person and a normal person like the rest of us – but he has a really cool job where he can take trips to space! 🙂

I have had the pleasure of meeting Tim a few times. The first time was when he came to meet and greet myself and my colleagues when we started our Masters in Space Physiology and Health in 2011; he had only been selected for the astronaut programme in 2009 so he was still at the beginning of his training. He was telling us all the things he had done so far and everything he had to do over the next 4 years to get himself ready to fly, and now look – he flies in two weeks! How time flies 🙂 He is absolutely lovely; very humble, very approachable, and absolutely loves to inspire others to pursue whatever dreams they have!

Not me – if I win this, I’ll be as excited as you to chat with him!
