This isn’t a great answer, but some days are hard and some days are easy. No two days are the same and each day has different problems to solve. 🙂

I would second exactly what Delma said! Being a scientist is good in the sense that no 2 days are the same; our work is constantly changing, which is good to keep you from getting bored! But sometimes you don’t find what you expect to find, or you find something you didn’t expect, which can be difficult to deal with! But then we wouldn’t be scientists if we didn’t want to be challenged so I guess on the whole we can’t complain. Besides, many scientific breakthroughs have been found this way!

There are always going to be both good and bad days! What is important is keeping the goal in site and working towards that. Also being part of something you enjoy and believe in helps. Being involved with human spaceflight is pretty exciting so this helps you get through any bad days!

Both! Like the other guys have said, some days are easy and some are hard. It depends on the work and the mood of the day.

Strangely, some of the best days are when you have the hardest problems – because these are “something new” that you’ve not seen before and there’s a s thrill in trying to solve – and hopefully solving them. This is different to how I remember it at school because the problems we have aren’t exercises, they’re real issues that, if we can solve, help the world!
