Most spacecraft are controlled by computers on the spacecraft themselves, following instructions sent up from mission control centres around the world!

Spaceships with people on are usually controlled in the same way – with onboard computers handling most things and special commands from the ground. But sometimes the astronauts take over. Just two days ago, when astronaut Tim launched and flew to the space station, the pilot of his Soyuz spacecraft had to take over from the computer and dock to the space station himself! Cool!
