Ah, good question! BIOROCK technically just refers to the main goal of the mission: biological mining of rock. The mission used to have a different name, though: E-GEM, which stood for The Extraterrestrial Geomicrobiology Package Test Bed for the ISS (E-GEM came from the Extraterrestrial Geomicrobiology part). We felt BIOROCK was a slightly more useful name.
