• Question: would you miss your family and friends when you are up in space? would you be able to talk to them?

      I would miss my family, but astronauts are able to chat with their families by Skype and can make phone calls over the internet.

      Hi Will,

      I dont think I would miss my friends and family so much, I have already spent about 18 years living abroad and am used to being far from them. As Delma already pointed out, the crew can “skype” and phone home with the IP phone so I think they dont get too lonely either. I think things would be completely different during a Mars mission when you are millions and millions of miles away from the Earth and it is just a tiny blue dot in the sky.
