Hi Brendon! I am not sure it was a crisis… but when I first looked through a telescope at the other planets and saw Saturns rings with my own eyes for the first time, it made me realise how giangantic the universe is and how small I am! It made me think about big questions to do with meaning of life and things like that 🙂

I saw that your profile says you like watching minute physics (awesome!) and that it can give you an existential crisis! Physics is one of the most exciting of the sciences though as it tries to explain why everything is how it is and how things work 🙂 When we start trying to explain the new things we find in space – we are often not really sure what the true answer is, so we use theories, which are ideas to try and explain things… Not knowing the answer for sure is where scientists come in who do experiments to try and prove (or disprove) the theories 🙂

If you like fun physics problems, here is a video of 5 fun physics things! Post me a comment if you can explain any and I have another video of the answers to them all 😉

PS: The astro support team will start getting evicted this week from Tuesday! If you like my replies where I try to include videos for you then please vote for me – and check out the videos I made myself specially for you guys this weekend on my profile page! 😀

The closest I’ve come to this was in one Astronomy class – we watched a video similar to the one below and I realized just how small we are compared to the universe. But then I get really excited again, because there’s so much to explore!
