• Question: have you always wanted to be a scientist?

      Mostly always, except for the times I wanted to be a writer, a detective, and an astronaut. 😉

      Do you have some ideas for what you want to be?

      Hi @ 948nch28,

      No I haven’t! I always thought that I might not be clever enough, or that I would face too many hurdles being a girl. Thankfully doing my Masters helped me to understand that I could do it, and that regardless of the “girl” hurdles, I should fight them, and here I am! It will be much easier for you guys now, because the world of science is much more accessible now, thanks to things like this!

      No, for a long time I didn’t know what I wanted to do at all! It wasn’t until I was starting my physio training that I heard NASA astronaut Sunni Williams say that you can acheive anything if you follow your dreams. Thats when I began trying to follow human spaceflight and one thing led to another and now I am here!

      My advise is do what you find fun and interesting, that way you enjoy it more 😀

      Yes, or an engineer, which is a similar kind of job. To me, it was so interesting that we can understand the way the world works and the rules that control nature, and then use this knoweldge to make the lives of people better! I’m happy I stayed on course and learnt how to do what I do now, even if there was a lot of learning, because I’m happy to be able to do it!
